John Thomas' Twenty-seventh Week

John Thomas spent the weekend at a soccer tournament his Aunt Madelaine was in. Her team came in third out of eight, and John Thomas had a great time. He had mango for breakfast at the field each day, and played with his own soccer ball.

He is really enjoying having baths in the big tub now. In the baby tub he was always reclined and could only splash with his feet. Now that he sits up in the tub, and has swimming experience, he is an expert at splashing Mommy and Daddy using his hands and whatever toy he can get into his hands. He's learning that to grab toys in the tub he needs to use a different technique than he does when he's out of the tub.

He had his six-month doctor's visit on Tuesday. He's up to 17.13 lbs (8.1 kg) and is now 27" (68cm) long. That's up from his four-month visit where he was just shy of 15lbs and was 26" long. The vaccinations didn't phase him as much as last time either. He had about a 2 second cry for the first one, and 30 seconds for the second. He was perfectly happy the rest of the day.

He's become a real pro at sitting up, when set up right he can sit on his own and play with toys for quite a while. New tastes this week were squash and oat cereal. He hasn't yet found a food he doesn't like!
